Fix body language

Do you think you could pretty much tell what someone is thinking by reading their body language and facial?

expressions if you were aquainted with the person and also had some sort of context (like a conversation they just had?)

Public Comments

  1. Most people yes, but some peoples body language and facial expressions can be misleading.
  2. Absolutely yes! Verbal cues tell us alot but NON verbal cues tell us more than we can even imagine. People, without even realizing it, have certain cues that are always present for certain events. A liar, for example, will often look to the left while pretending to recall something and not even be aware they are doing it because it's not something you can really control. Someone telling the truth, while recalling an event, will always look to the right - it's about activating a certain part of our brain. Looking left is right brain stuff and vice versa - when a liar is looking left trying to "recall" an event, they are using the creative part of their brain. You will always give away more than you know but not everyone is attuned to noticing those cues and so many couldn't tell the difference.
  3. I'm not sure you can tell exactly what they are thinking but you can get a clue if those actions mean anything to you or you know about them. But I would say that non verbal is far more important than verbal. Because a person can control what they say and try to trick you but a person can try to control what they do and will not always succeed. People unconsciously make statements that they mean but didn't mean for you to see. So yeah I think you can tell a lot by body language and facial expressions. Good luck!
  4. if you look up derren brown on wikipedia or you tube you will see an example of what can be done by reading peoples reactions. he doesn't profess to being a "psychic",just an ability to read people. worth looking.
