Fix body language

Where can I learn how to read Body Language?

I've always been very intrigued by people that could read body language, and would like to try to teach myself how. I work in a 4 star hotel, and feel it would be very useful. Does anyone know of a website or book that goes through the basics of body language?

  1. there must be books out there that's a great idea I'm thinking of doing that also!
  2. i dont know from where
  3. Well, if you watch the show Lie to Me you learn tons about it. Go on imdb.com and they have all the episodes. Seriously this show is hella cool and is all about reading body language
  4. There'll be books on it, probably cheaper on places like Ebay than in book shops like Waterstones etc
  5. What an amazing coincidence this is. Just last night I found myself wondering a very similar thing. I've found a couple if sites, although they deal with slightly different things to what I think you want. http://www.getmeacoolinterview.com/interview-technique-body-language-part-1.html http://www.businessweek.com//careers/content/feb2007/ca20070207_700175.htm http://www.arg.com/njords-hall/g2l/njords-guide-to-body-language/ If you want more specifically to be able to read body language, it is probably very easy to find it by Googling 'how to read body language'. I did just that, and the very first result I got was http://www.wikihow.com/Read-Body-Language which should itself to the job perfectly, however, in case it doesn't, I'll link a few of the other best ones on the first page of my Google search, in no particular order: http://ezinearticles.com/?How-to-Read-Body-Language---Top-10-Tips&id=991635 http://changingminds.org/explanations/behaviors/body_language/body_language.htm http://www.squidoo.com/readingbodylanguage I hope that this helps. If you need more information, just add extra details, and I'll check back at least daily.
  6. Alan Pease is an expert author on body language. I've read his books and they're interesting as well as entertaining.
  7. Google
  8. internet
  9. Yup. "Body Language" is title. I believe Alan Pease is author. All used bookstores have it. It's thin and easy and I loved it!
  10. Most people would suggest Alan, which I think is good. I don't recommend Lie To Me* it does teach gestures, but not in real time and they use them in a way that highlights them. When reading body language you don't look at specific gestures, but the whole cluster of emotions that they are showing to get a good idea. If you look at only one gesture then you will probably have the wrong idea. I also suggest "The Definitive Book of Body Language." I got it when I first got into it, and it was not only extremely helpful but funny and a good read. It not only shows and explains gestures but things like why we do them, or the science behind them. It's an excellent starting book.
  11. I think we do not need to learn in somewhere. For example, when we go to some other country. We do not need to learn all of there's language because just through the body language we can communicate easily. So, just sense would help to understand other people's thoughts. or If you have to learn because of your job, How about ask your companies?
  12. Study people, connect the dots. WHen something unfortunate happens watch the first igsignificant thing they do. WHen someone is happy watch the first insignificant thing the do and etc. The first person you should study is yourself though because you probably do these insignificant reaction to some events and conversations as well.
