Reading text without body language?

Whenever I receive an in-depth emotion-charged message I never seen to be able to read it. Like i can see words and make sentences but cannot see the meaning or emotion attached with it. But when i talk about it in person everything makes perfect sense. It seems that without body language I cannot understand. Is there something wrong with me? Is it Common? what can i do to fix it? Thanks

1. You cant see emotion because there is nothing but words. I have friends who read my text (or email) and wording wrong all the time......it often comes across as harsh......but because then know me, they can hear my voice when they read it and know exactly what i am tring to say. You cant get the real emotion because their is no voice, tone or body language to go along with the words to help you interpet it. Happpens to everyone......not just you.
2. Perhaps you're just not used to it yet, try reading over texts over and over until you do understand the emotion the person on the other end is trying to get across. I don't think anything's WRONG with you, but to me, it kind of comes naturally to add in the emotion and drama and expression to the text I'm reading automatically.
