Do you believe that people can read body language?

you can have two people reading to ways and how do you know who is right and if they are really reading the people at all?

I believe it but its all instincts for men and intuition for women i guess.
It's not just between men and women... certain things everybody can read.. if someone is nervous.. people usually don't sit in a relaxed pose and they move their hands awkwardly.. that is a sign they are nervous.. and a good interviewer can read everything about body language.. they know what to look for.... but I would not be able to read the interviewer.. because i would be more focused on giving a good impression and not watch him or her and try to read his or her body language.. but yes they can read rigtht away usually about body language.. that doesn't mean they can read a persons real character but they can get a first impresson and not just if the person is nervous.. also if the person can express him or herself well.. of course one can see if the person has some experience from the replies... and a guy and a girl .. I am sure if they are both interested in each other they send out vibes and if the ''liking is mutual both pick up those ''vibes'' and read them correctly.. they know that the interest is there on both sides.. but they still don't know where it will lead... xx
Everybody can do it to an extent. Have you ever noticed something missing while talking on the phone? Especially if somebody is trying to tell you something, and you miss it. I don't think it is a matter of right or wrong, but interpreting thier actions or behavior. Things like the face and posture tell a lot.
There are actually things called BOOKS on this subject and I suggest you read one or two because it most certainly IS possible to read body language... I have used this for years and I can spot someone who is lying or considering doing something violent from across the room. Being able to read body language can save your life under certain circumstances.
in this field will always be theoretics because we cannot "see" we can only assume by cause and effect. secondly right and wrong is constantly fluctuating due to perceptions, the way you percieve and see the situation last of all people can read people it can be a honed skill perhaps one might be sensitive or hyper sensitive to emotions. i know i can... much like a dog senses fear, it is a more common trait than you might think. jungle is a very dumb person dont listen to her, there is a lack of intelligence that cannot be comprehended her dumbness is hurting my brain.

You can't read body language. But the unconscious always reacts to those cues that come from the body more than from anywhere else. That's why grooming, speech, facial espressions and gestures are such non-verbal signals.
I think body language only says so much and can be easily misinterpreted. For instance, a person looks really anxious and uncomfortable, .. are they concealing some hidden concern with what's being said? or do they just have to go to the bathroom? I guess this is what Supersayn is saying.

yes definitely. A lot of the time we are not aware of it. For instance if two people are working towards each other and make eye contact they are unlikely to bump into each other. this is because your eyes will move either left or right to indicate which way you will step in order to avoid the other person. The other person subconsciously understands this and moves in the opposite direction, thus, normally the two people will not collide. We are communicating through body language all the time. Another example, many people are unapproachable (even though they might not know it) they are sending signals to other people to keep away and most people are able to read those signals (unless they are drunk and then will pester that person only to be told to f*** off). Think of a person with folded arms, this usually means that the person doesn't want to talk. If you are sitting with someone and they are leaning towards you this is a sign that they are interested in you. we are all born with the ability to communicate through body language but alas we dismiss it in favour of verbal communication. Animals communicate through energy and your dog is able to read the energy of humans. They know if your annoyed, if you are about to take them out for a walk, if you are thinking of feeding them, if your a nervous etc and they respond to this, far more than verbal communication. If you have a close relationship with a pet you can probably read their body language quite easily.
its not about right or wrong...its what you pick up from another so its your interpretation of somebodyelses movements/attitude whatever......but most often inner feelings differ from ouside gestures you know.Like if you pick up some nervous vibes from 1 person doesnt mean he/she is indeed nervous but it can be a sign of feelings of love and attraction.....they say woman pick up by intuition much better than men but why do lots of woman end up with bad guys???I always go for some real communication in the end as much as this is possible between men and women in general,haha
