- Not friendly. Not approachable. This person keeps to himself/herself. or My hands are cold or ugly.
- They are relaxed with themselves and their surroundings. Their shoulders hurt. They are pointing to their genitals unconciously.
- Insecurity!
- I put my hands in my pockets alot. To me it feels better than having my hands dangling there.
- Evolutionarily speaking, it signals vunerability. It is analogous to a dogs submissive display. Notice someone, or yourself next time you are in a hiarchial situation. I find social science explanations of human behavior to be superficial and proximate. I need to look at ultimate evolutionary causation.
- It's like when people fidgit. It's because they're nervous or feel less self consious when doing it.
- Maybe its shyness or nervousness. Or maybe boredom and wanting to be somewhere else. Maybe its a security thing to.
- depends on the person cuz my hands are in my pocket 90%of the time but well to me i feel like i am tryen to hide stuff from people and that is when i really have my hands there i sont think alot of pepole do this or even think about this. so like i sayed it depends on the person.
- what if they're actually very confident and have high self esteem, and they think its a cool image to have hands in pockets. like some sort of james dean sort of thing.
