Fix body language

flirting? body language? or just friends?

There is a guy I (kinda) like at my college. I've known him since running XC last year on the team, and this year we have a class together, and are in a Christian fellowship grp. together. My question is, how can I send signals to him that I am interested, that I think he's a cool guy and I wanna get to know him better (on a friendly-basis first!) without coming off to strongly? I don't wanna freak him out, ya know? Also, what are some signs that he, too is interested...or not? Thanks! how can i even be sure he might be into me?

2. this is going to sound funny but i always have lightly touched his arm or hand..there is alot of body language that he will clue in on that you never even know your doing....it is funny i have been talking to this guy and a couple months ago we were talking about when we first met and he told me that he liked me and he didn't know that i like him til on day we were talking and i touched his arm...the next time we talked he said that he said something funny and when i went to laugh he told me i touched his arm again...then he said i would watch you talk to other friends and you never did that to anyone else..so maybe he notices things that you do and you don't know it yet....but anyways..very suttle things...most guys will pick on things like that....
